IJP School Students Learn From Sweet Annie

Infant Jesus of Prague School students learn from Sweet Annie's bakery founder, Anne Aboushousha.

Anne Aboushousha, the founder of in Flossmoor said, “If a space opens up in downtown Flossmoor, I am opening a bakery.”

Her vision became reality in 2009, during the height of "The Great Recession." Foresight, a dream and a desire to deliver baked goods were essential to the founding of The business has been putting smiles on faces of customers since that time. One particularly fond fan of the bakery was Shiloah Coley, an eighth grader at .

Coley created a letter as a language arts assignment and it was met with a visit from Aboushousha on Thursday, Oct. 13. The baker also brought a box of the student’s favorite item for the entire class: pumpkin muffins.

“I’ve never had Sweet Annie’s before, but this is wonderful,” junior high student, Dewone Westerfield said.

The sweet treats provided a lesson and lifted the spirits of the teens during the class period.
