Infant Jesus of Prague School develops Spanish Instruction Program

Infant Jesus of Prague School is piloting a foreign language program in which students receive Spanish instruction on a weekly basis from Kindergarten through 8th grade. The program was initiated when a need was identified by Principal, Mr. Dan Smith as well as key members of the IJP community. During the 2011-2012 school year, Spanish instructor, Ms. Lauren Hughes delivers instruction to the students. Buenos noches, once and miercoles are words which Ms. Lauren Hughes’ students identify and understand. Ms. Hughes enjoys foreign language instruction and students identify with her enthusiasm.

1st year Spanish instructor, Ms. Lauren Hughes attended St. Norbert College for 4 years. She graduated from St. Norbert in May of 2011. She learned about the complexities of teaching while teaching religious education to 1st grade students at her home Parish, St. John the Baptist while attending high school. She enjoys the challenges and rewards of teaching Kindergarten through 8th grade students on a weekly basis in this inaugural year of the Infant Jesus of Prague School Spanish program.
