Infant Jesus of Prague School Teachers Train To Teach Inquiry-Based Lessons
There are many ways in which children learn. Inquiry-based instruction is the way in which teachers at Infant Jesus of Prague School developed at a training. On Friday, October 26, 2012, St. Xavier University STEM Center instructors, Sr. Jeanne Marie Toriskie, Ph.D. and Suzanne Snaidauf, M.S. guided the award-winning staff in innovative teaching methods.
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The national initiative for the cutting edge instruction was developed under President Barack Obama during his 1st term in office. It gives students the opportunity to research, inquire and explore scientific topics, while utilizing and synthesizing information from various sources of information. Teachers took time and explored the concepts of inquiry-based learning by building models, designing presentations and recording data. The school strives to prepare students for a competitive work-force with the best possible education in the 21st century.
