The Heart & Soul of IJP School

 

The dedication of Catholic School educators is at the heart of the efforts for Infant Jesus of Prague School. Through the years, storied teaching careers touched the story of the school. 2012 was not unique in the celebration of retirees.

Martha Deitche and Cheryl Van Kempema served the school for a combined total of 51 years.   Deitche began her career at Infant Jesus of Prague School in 1985. The former 2nd grade teacher said, “Kids love to laugh. I made it a part of everyday    learning during my career here.” She also stated that she truly enjoyed the absolute dedication of her fellow colleagues.

Cheryl Van Kempema was fond of the close bonds between teachers at IJP School. She enjoyed the camaraderie and family atmosphere of the school. She focused on real-world connections in lessons she taught. Van Kempema said, “Students need to know about the world around them and how it connects to learning.”
