Steve Johnson, Candidate for HF Park District Commissioner

Steve Johnson running for Homewood-Flossmoor Park District Commissioner position.

As a 16-year resident of Homewood, my wife Mary Beth and I have been fortunate to raise our two children in a community with a National Gold Medal Award winning Park District.  From playing in Millennium or Leavitt Parks to the Music for Minors program at the Irwin Center to tennis lessons at the Club to swimming at Lions Club, we’ve taken full advantage of the many wonderful parks, facilities and programs the Homewood Flossmoor Park District offers

I’ve been honored to represent the taxpayers of Homewood and Flossmoor over the past six years as a member of the Homewood Flossmoor Park District Board of Commissioners and hope to continue that role for the next six.

As we all know, the past several years have been challenging economically. And just like everyone, the HF Park District has had to reevaluate every aspect of their operations, make difficult decisions and do more with less. But because of those efforts and the work of many, many dedicated people, the Homewood Flossmoor Park District has been able to maintain its legacy of excellence.
