Monday

Baby Bloomers Storyhour at the Homewood Library: “Baby Bloomers is designed for birth thru 12 months olds and their caregivers. Easy fingerplays, songs, and stories will be featured.” No registration required.

Tuesday

Professional Women's Network's Business After Hours: Join the Professional Women's Network for an evening of networking at Jonathan Kane Salon & Spa! Their staff will be offering complimentary services from multiple departments such as hair, nails, makeup and lashes. Refreshments will also be provided.

Crawlers Storyhour at the Homewood Library: “Crawlers is designed for children between 1-2 years old and their caregivers. Fingerplays, songs, and stories will be featured.” No registration required.

Wednesday

Children's Author & Illustrator Kevin Luthardt's Picture Book Workshop: “Kevin Luthardt, author & illustrator of When Edgar Met Cecil & many other books, will hold a workshop for children ages 7 & up on the process of making a picture book, from the concept to the finished product.” Hosted by the Flossmoor Public Library.

Grandparent's Date Night @ Mitchell's Soda Shop: “Come in with your grandkids (or maybe just a picture of your grandkids) and your better half and have a scoop of Butter Pecan or maybe a Green River Float while you reminisce about the first time you visited Mitchell's Soda Shop.” Free pint of ice cream for grandparents who spend over $5.

Totally Tots Storyhour at the Homewood Library: “Totally Tots story time is a program designed for 2 to early 3 year olds. Caregivers and children enjoy this highly interactive story time together with toys, songs, and stories. No registration required.”

Thursday

Drop-In Storyhour at the Homewood Library: “This program is designed for 3 to 5 year olds who will participate in activities in the Rauch Reading Room including games, songs, stories and a movie for 30 minutes and then join their caregiver in the Youth Area for a craft afterwards.” No registration required.

Friday

Fractured Fairytales at Union Street Gallery: “Storytellers, creative writers, and comedians—both novice and accomplished—are invited to read or present an original fairytale or shake things up and present an innovative rewrite of a classic. Costumes and props are encouraged.”

Comedy Event for Women: “Tracy DeGraaf is on a mission to help women struggling with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), and other emotional issues as she brings her one-woman comedy show to life for the 2014 Winter Season.”

Saturday

Homewood Community Blood Drive: “Every successful donor will receive a Culver's gift card for a FREE ButterBurger!”

Wiley's After Dark (Live Music):The Jimmy O and Rohnda Lee Duo will be performing music from the 1940’s to today’s dance hits all night. No cover and great food!”
