Summer is officially over for Homewood-Flossmoor High School students this week. Students will hit the halls of H-F for their first day of school on Wednesday, Aug. 14.
Homewood-Flossmoor High School’s first period classes begin at 7:30 a.m. in both the North and South buildings. Students should report to their first period classes as assigned on their schedules.

What Else to Watch For This Week:
Homewood-Flossmoor High School will hold late registration for students on Monday, Aug. 12. Students can register for classes, verify residency and purchase books from 2 to 6 p.m. in the South Cafeteria. Students who cannot make this late registration day will be forced to miss the first day of school, and any day thereafter, until they register. For more information, visit the school’s website.
The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District will host the School of Rock’s Musical Showcase on Thursday, Aug. 15. The show kicks off at 6 p.m. and will last until 9 p.m., featuring bands from the Performance Program at the School of Rock’s Mokena location. The show will be held at the Irwin Bandshell, and is free to attend.
Bubble-logy, presented by the H-F Park District, takes place on Friday, Aug. 16, at Iron Oaks. Attendees will be invited to create their own bubble art, make scented bubbles and even have a chance to get inside a giant bubble. Tickets are $9-per-residents or $13.50 for non-residents. The Homewood Public Library will host its Storyhour on the Road event this Tuesday, Aug. 13, at East Hazel Crest Park. The event kicks off at 10:30 a.m. and will feature songs, stories, a craft and more. This event is free to attend. For more information, contact the library at 708-798-0121 x.284.
