Homewood Flossmoor Peer Jury Program
The Homewood Flossmoor Peer Jury Program operates under the support of the Homewood, Flossmoor, Glenwood, East Hazel Crest and Chicago Heights police departments. The program works to provide residents in the community, including victims, juvenile offenders and parents, an avenue to talk together about the juvenile's criminal offense, how it has affected everyone involved and to determine how to repair any harm. It is a voluntary process where the participants may ask questions, discuss their fears, and identify their needs. Trained peer jurors and adult volunteers assist the participants in communicating and creating an agreement to address the harm in a realistic and attainable manner. Check the main website for a full write-up of the process or for details on the program. Call to speak with the jury coordinator or for information on volunteer work.
