In just a couple hours, four truckloads of barricades will ship from AAA Rental in Markham to Washington D.C. for the Jan. 21 Presidential Inauguration.
President Obama isn’t the only South Chicago representative attending the inauguration ceremony next Monday. Sometime Friday afternoon, four trucks filled with 2000 barricades from AAA Rental in Markham will depart for Washington D.C. to help build the perimeter for the parade route from the Capitol Building to the White House. This is the fourth presidential inauguration AAA Rental has been involved with, according to owner Jay Heiferman of Homewood. He says this is the largest inaugural order his company’s had to date. The South Suburban rental company is also involved in Chicago’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Bud Billiken Parade and Pride Parade, among many other large-scale events. All across the country, Americans are reacting to the news of President Obama’s reelection. While many are concerned about how the decision will affect them individually, thousands of local business owners are contemplating how four more years of an Obama administration might affect their efforts. To find out more, Patch asked around among the H-F business community get their take on it. Days after the election, the feedback is pretty optimistic. Of course Kane wouldn't mind; In the brave new America pretty much the only private sector businesses left will be hair salons, nail salons, currency exchanges, and mini marts.   more ›
