The corner of Vollmer Road and Crawford Avenue in Flossmoor could look very different if a proposed Meijer supercenter is approved by the village board in December. Earlier this month, the Plan Commission approved the company's proposal for a 192,000-square-foot store. Flossmoor Planning Director Patrick Finn told Sun-Times Media some residents expressed concerns: “They talked about the impact on the neighborhood. There were some concerns about traffic with Crawford being a two-lane roadway. There were also some concerns about noise and light pollution.
