White Sox Fan Goes on a Spree Inside Kmart: Blotter

Homewood police reports, May 17-19.

SUNDAY, MAY 19 Two teens were cited for battery after allegedly throwing water balloons at people standing in line at Dairy Queen, 1700 Ridge Rd. Police tracked them down in the 1200 block of 187th Street. Both boys received municipal citations and their car was towed. SATURDAY, MAY 18 LaShanda Burkins, 26, of the 18700 block of Kings Road, Homewood, was charged with assault and criminal damage to property, according to a report. She is accused of threatening to cut and kill a man and breaking out the front window of a home. Replacing the window is estimated to cost $300. South Suburban DUI Arrests, May 19

The National Transportation Safety Board is recommending the DUI alcohol limit be lowered to 0.05 ... not that it would do any good for the people on this week's list of Southland DUIs.

  NEW LENOX May 9: Alejandro Aguillon, 22, of the 100 block of Branchaw Boulevard, New Lenox, was charged with driving under the influence, making an improper turn and speeding, according to a report. Police stopped Aguillon at about 2:13 a.m. near the intersection of Cedar Road and Terry Ellen Lane. Aguillon was allegedly found under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and released after posting bond. ORLAND PARK April 24: Brian J. Windt, 38, of the 15600 block of Larkspun Lane, Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08 and speeding, according to a report. Steger Man Faces 2 Pot Possession Charges from Separate Investigations: Blotter

Homewood police reports, May 9.

THURSDAY, MAY 9 Byron Okeke, 24, of the 18400 block of Poplar Court, Homewood, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol content greater than 0.08, failing to signal when required and illegally transporting alcohol, according to a report. Police stopped Okeke at about 3:24 p.m. in the 1700 block of Willow Road. An officer noticed the driver had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. Police also noticed a Crown Royal bottle on the floor of the car. Tolman Moutry, 23, in the 3700 block of Union Avenue, Steger, was charged with two counts of possession of marijuana, according to a report. While police were on their way to arrest Moutry in a separate narcotics investigation, they allegedly found 14 …

Thief Grabs Wedding Accessories and Splits: Blotter

Homewood police reports, May 8

WEDNESDAY, MAY 8 Tyrone Robinson, 43, of the 100 block of 23rd Street, Chicago Heights, was charged with retail theft, according to a report. He is accused of taking apart a DeWalt 12-volt cordless drill and hiding the parts in his pants. Police said Robinson stole the $149 drill from Home Depot, 17845 Halsted St. He was due on May 9 in Markham court. Micheal Ponce, 50, of the 17900 block of Riedle Court, Homewood, was charged with breaching the peace, according to a report. Police said Ponce allegedly was drunk when he grabbed a metal pipe and threatened a neighbor. He is due on June 17 in Markham court. A man was spotted concealing wedding accessories in a bag at about 4:40 p.m. inside Jo-Ann Fabrics, 17920 Halsted St., according to a …

Police stopped at car for speeding at about 3:01 a.m. near the intersection of Laraway Road and Stonebridge Drive. Cosgrove was arrested after an investigation by police. He posted bond and was released. May 4: Jose Fuentes-Jimenez, 31, of the first block of Calle Regina Medina, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, was charged with driving under the influence, driving without insurance, disobeying a traffic control device and speeding, according to a report. SUNDAY, MAY 5 Lucious Harding, 45, of the 1700 block of 90th Street, Chicago, was charged with retail theft, according to a report. He is accused of taking a Sony PlayStation 3 controller from Kmart, 17550 Halsted St. The video game accessory costs $54.99. Harding is due on June 14 in Markham court. SATURDAY, MAY 4 Gregory Conard, 47, of the 600 block of 131st Place, Chicago, was charged with retail theft, according to a report. He is accused of putting six cases of Bud Light Lime Straw-Ber-Rita cans and three cases of Miller Genuine Draft cans into a shopping cart and walking out the door at Jewel-Osco, 3153 183rd St., without paying. Homewood Man Accused of Running after Car Crash: Blotter

Homewood police reports, May 4.

SATURDAY, MAY 4 Erik Morris, 28, of the 1400 block of Burr Oak Road, Homewood, was charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a crash, driving without insurance and improper lane use, according to a report. Morris is accused of running away from a crash that happened in the 1600 block of Ridge Road. He was arrested at about 2:56 a.m. after police tracked him down. Morris is due on June 17 in Markham court. Bianca Simmons 24, of the 3600 block of 70th Street, Chicago, is charged with retail theft and driving with a suspended license, according to a report. Movie Fan Allegedly Snatches DVDs from Kmart: Blotter

FRIDAY, MAY 3 James DeBerry, 51, of the 500 block of West 126th Street, Chicago, was charged with retail theft, according to a report. He is accused of stealing DVDs, including Django, Gangster Squad and Haunted House, and other merchandise totaling $116.30 at about 2:04 a.m. from Super Kmart, 17550 Halsted St. DeBerry is due on June 14 in Markham court. Heavy-duty vehicle jacks were used to swipe four rims and tires from a vehicle parked in the 18100 block of Sacremento Avenue, according to a report.   EVERGREEN PARK April 26: Christine Y. Blades, 46, of the 200 block of South Torrence Avenue in Sauk Village, was charged with driving under the influence, failing to dim headlights, using unsafe equipment and driving with a defective window, according to a report. Blades was stopped at about 12:11 a.m., near 98th Street and Western Avenue, after an officer noticed the vehicle's bright headlights were on. The officer also reported seeing sparks coming from the rear of the vehicle and believed the car's axle might have been broken. Police reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol on the driver's breath and noticed that two airbags inside the car had deployed.
