We asked, you voted Chrissy Bennett of Marc Alan Salon and Day Spa most-trusted hair stylist around.
Congratulations to Chrissy Bennett for winning "Most Trusted Hair Stylist" in Homewood-Flossmoor in our recent "Who Do You Trust With Your Hair?" readers' choice piece. Bennett has been working at Marc Alan Salon and Day Spa for eight years now. Owner Geri Melyon says her loyalty and dedication sets her apart from the rest. "The reason she has built a dedicated following is her commitment to pamper(ing) her guests," Melyon said. "Chrissy believes in giving her guests exactly what they want, so she listens carefully to what they tell her. Melyon also pointed out Bennett's charitable nature. Somehow we jumped from just shy of 800 "likes" on the H-F Patch Facebook page to the current 1,020 in less than two weeks. I'm speechless. At the beginning of the week, we announced the plans of a new botique hotel in downtown Homewood. This comes shortly after the announcement of a new fine dining restaurant planned for the Southgate area. You're fairly new to Flossmoor. Why did you choose to open the salon here? We opened in February 2010. We chose Flossmoor because we live here and believe in the south suburbs, Flossmoor and the surrounding communities. We wanted to support this community with a business that focuses on service and created an atmosphere where guests can relax and enjoy themselves. How long have you been in the industry, and what made you want to be in it? I have been a stylist since 1979 and started at a salon in Matteson.
