A Homewood businessperson recently asked Patch what kind of business people want to see in our community—so we got to work. It only took a few minutes after posting the inquiry on the H-F Patch Facebook page to get a wide assortment of answers ranging from a deli to a lingerie shop to a hookah bar. What Should Go Here? Tom's Family Restaurant

What would you like to see take the place of this soon-to-be-closed beloved Homewood diner?

We know it’s not gone just yet, but as Tom’s Family Diner nears its last days of business, it’s worth thinking about what you’d like to fill the downtown Homewood vacancy. Owner Tom Kataras said he doesn’t care who occupies the location next, so long as it’s successful. Of course, Tom’s is irreplaceable, but this presents an opportunity for a fairly dramatic change for Homewood’s central business district. What should go here? What do you think? What Should Go Here? The Old Shooters Site

A lot of great new places are headed for Homewood, but what about the vacancies that persist? We want to know what you'd like to see come to town.

You might recognize this vacancy as the old Shooters restaurant on the corner of 175th and Halsted. It's prominently located near the entrance of the village when traveling southbound on Halsted and it's been refered to as an "eyesore" on more than one occasion by our Facebook readers. What should go here? A restaurant? A shop? A service? We want to know! Please share your ideas in the comments section.
