Have you ever seen the Homewood resident hall of fame at village hall? It's not too late to suggest a contribution.
Homewood is full of some pretty remarkable people. Just last week we honored Tom Katras for his contributions to the village over the years. Before him we've featured Homewood-Flossmoor High School Psychologist Jennifer Schultz and South Suburban Family Shelter Director Diane Bedrosian, but there are plenty more deserving of acclaim. Homewood's Hall of Fame, located on the first floor of village hall, is open during normal business hours and accessible to the public anytime. If you think you know somone who belongs up there, make sure to download an application and submit it to the Homewood Heritage Committee at the address listed on the form. Hurry, though. Long-time resident and former Trustee Ralph DeWitt will be sworn in as Homewood's new village manager on Nov. 22.
Former Homewood Trustee Ralph DeWitt will be assuming the role of Homewood’s new village manager, according to a press release sent out by village this afternoon. In addition to serving on the village board from 2001 to 2009, DeWitt has currently held the position of Chief of the Investigations Bureau for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. He’s been living in the community for the past 14 years and is married with one child. DeWitt will be replacing the position formerly held by Mark Franz, who recently resigned to become village manager of Glen Ellyn.
