Former Flossmoor Officer Fails to Prove Termination was Racially Motivated

Former Flossmoor police officer Larry Hall was fired in 2009 after lying about having sex in his patrol vehicle while on duty.

A federal appeals panel says former Flossmoor police officer Larry Hall failed to prove his firing was race-related in court Monday, reports the Chicago Tribune. Hall also used a police instant-messaging system to send inappropriate texts. One reportedly referred to Flossmoor residents as "Flossmorons." Hall, an African-American, filed a racial discrimination …

Village Sidewalk Replacement Program Expanded

Flossmoor officials are pleased that the village's Sidewalk Replacement Program came in under budget, allowing for more sidewalks to be repaired.

Bids to replace 3,880 square feet of sidewalk in the southern part of the Heather Hill Subdivision came in just about $2,000 under budget, Village of Flossmoor officials said at a meeting Monday, Aug. 15.
