I agree HN....The new configuration barely leaves enough room to fit my mini van in the lane. As it is now, I have to hug the median line. Seems like a bad idea to me.

ReplyI recently received a letter from the Village that requires me to cut down two ash trees on my lot. They are not looking too good and need to come down I know, but that's a tough $650 to swallow. They gave me about 6 weeks to cut them down.

ReplyHow about addressing some of the recent pressing issues on gangs and safety in the community. It seems like these "isolated" incidents are becoming more frequent. Especially concerned since summer has not even officially begun? I'd rather feel that me and my kids are safe on the streets of my neighborhood vs. where the next Whole Foods is going in.

I'm not quite sure what the $ implications are for Homewood based on this statement but it sounds like we're kicking in..."The village board on Tuesday approved using $48,000 from its motor fuel tax fund to implement the long-awaited plan. The village had to match a portion of a $114,000 federal grant it received in 2007 from the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program, the goal of which was to get people out of cars and onto bikes"...........and I love bikes........but is this really the best use of tax dollars.

ReplyWhat a waste of police resources. I hope someone at Marcus sees all of these comments so that next time they can take a more appropriate course of action.

ReplyI would start at Coyote Run's 3 hole practice course, but quickly move on to The Heights West or Graystone, unless you are like 13 or under. Otherwise it can get kind of boring.
Stony Creek is ok but a bit of a drive, so is the Palos Municipal 9 Hole. The Heights East is a train wreck unless you can find a time when it's empty, otherwise it takes forever to play a round and can be dangerous with flying balls since it is pretty wide open. -

I agree JM of NL.
I'm sure there are many politicians who have done worse, or are doing worse right now and will never see the inside of a prison. I think his arrogance and charisma captured the public's interest, which in turn helped feed the media to make some interesting news stories that helped put him away. -

ReplyI'm beginning to believe that we should all be carrying tasers in our pockets. It seem as if the crime rate in our area has escalated to alarming levels...or maybe we are just more informed...Idk??

Sorry to hear that business is slow, because the food really is very good here. Maybe it's the location which doesn't offer much street exposure. Lot's of competition along Halsted as well makes it tough. I agree that marketing might help...I recently saw they had a Living Social coupon, so thats a step in the right direction. How about a punch card to boost repeat business...something like get a free entree after 5 punches.
