3 Men Tried to Lure Student Into Van: Police

Flossmoor police are asking parents to talk to their children about safety.

Three men in a gray Toyota minivan attempted to lure a child walking home from school Tuesday afternoon, according to notice sent out by the Flossmoor Police Department.

Police say the minivan pulled up to the young student near the intersection of Heather Hill and Alexander Crescent in Flossmoor. A rear passenger slid open the side door as the driver called out to lure the child into the vehicle, according to police. The child recognized the threat, fled, and made it safely back home.

The driver of the newer-looking gray Toyota minivan was described as a black male with a green shirt and braided hair. No description of the other two men is available.
